Love You Long Time

There are friends who come and friends who go. Friends for life and friends for a period of time. All cherished and a blessing.

Every year at Christmas I get together with an amazing group of women I have known since I was in fourth grade. We see each other only once or twice a year (if we are lucky), but when we are together, it's like we have never been apart.

Some friends are kindred spirits the moment you meet them. You just know, we were born to be friends. And you are.

Other friendships may require some effort. Life, distance, jobs, family, so many factors can affect your relationship. But always, those friends are worth the effort.

There have been friends in my life that I could live next door to and never, ever get tired of. We click. Sisters by divine appointment.

Friendships are such an integral part of a girl's life. Leaving the traditional work force to stay home with my children makes me appreciate those bonds even more. It's important to have people around you who understand where you are, are there too, can laugh with you, can cry too. Lift you up, crack you up, beat you up if needed. Every friend, past and present has left me with residual pieces of themselves, it maybe a sense of their wit, a new appreciation for a sport or hobby, a sorrowful experience where one learns to grieve and empathize, a new perspective. The colorful tapestry of a person is intertwined with vibrant strands of the impact of your friends. This is why you should choose your friends wisely, this is why you should love your friends fiercely, this is why you should remember your friends dearly.

Friends, wherever the Lord leads you, whether near or far, I'm so glad He brought you here. For me. A short span, a lifetime, either way, you blessed me. Yet another way He shows us He loves us.

Proverbs 17:7
A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.
