To the Working Moms

Tonight was my son's orientation at the little preschool he is going to this fall. It's a really great school run by an impressive group of ladies. As I sat there tonight slumped in my seat- by about 7pm I can no longer sit up straight- I felt so impressed with the cohesive and coherent speeches these ladies were giving. I mean, they had a lot of information and they were able to form complete sentences and string them together into a logical and concise group.

And one of them has three kids.

Many times by supper I feel so weary I say things like, "put your feet in your bottom, " which is what I told Jacob tonight. What I was trying to say was, "Put your bottom in your seat." Yeah, not even close.

So, all that to say, hats off to the working moms. You are able to get up early, get everyone where they are supposed to be, do important jobs, say intelligent things, get everyone back home, feed them, mother them, and put them to bed. Man, that's a hard job. And it doesn't even touch on all the extra stuff...oh like grocery shopping, laundry, house cleaning and more. It might not be ideal, but you rise up to the challenge and you do it beautifully.

Moms, lets agree, when the sun comes up and our day begins we all have our jobs laid out and none of them are easy. Keep working hard, use those brains, eat properly and drink lots of water, sit down occasionally, and do what's been given to you to do. Don't worry, you are doing it beautifully.
