Thievery

Last weekend we were robbed. Someone came to our house- while we were home [safe] in our beds- and stole a truck and trailer. Tony made the discovery in the morning.

An experience like this causes a multitude of emotions and feelings: disbelief, anger, fear. Who would drive to someone's house and take something that isn't theirs? It's childish, selfish behaviour. When I was little I went with my mom to the eye doctor. They had a pink "jelly" bracelet with silver sparkles in their toy chest. I saw it, LOVED it, wanted it, and so I took it. Thats what a small child would do, but even at that age I knew it was wrong and couldn't live with the guilt! So I threw the bracelet over the fence into my neighbors yard where she found it and wore it to a wedding. But to go to someone's house and drive away with their vehicle!?!? What in the world?

What did they see that they might want to come back for later? It's the question that goes through my head the most often.A thief takes so much more than your possessions. They take your sense of security. It's a huge loss.

Unfortunately for the good for nothing, yellow bellied, cowardly, selfish, low down swamp rats:
#1. If they come back, they should consider us armed and very dangerous.
#2. If they come back, they will have to get through the multitude of heavenly hosts that I have asked God to line up around our property- shoulder to shoulder, the biggest and best of guardian angels- and heaven help them if they try.

  2. ummmm....confession, the keys were in it. So they did not come in my house, thankfully, but they still had to come into my backyard! That was close enough! Side note: I think they came to steal the truck, keys or no keys. We just made it easier than expected on them.
